Enhancing Your Club Experience: Sound System Rules

We would like to bring to your attention an important policy at our Boating Club regarding the operation of the sound system in our bar area.

To ensure the safety and security of our equipment and allow our volunteer staff to perform their duties effectively, only the rostered volunteer bar person is allowed to operate the sound system. We have had to replace speakers in the past because they were blown out as a result of the music volume being set too high. Furthermore, catering to members’ requests for music while working behind the bar can be challenging for the volunteer.

We understand that music plays an important role in creating a pleasant atmosphere at the club, and we want to make sure that everyone enjoys their time. However, we kindly request that members do not attempt to operate the sound system or interfere with the device from which the music is being played.

Members are welcome to ask the rostered volunteer bar person if there is a specific type of music playlist they would like to listen to. However, the volunteer has the discretion to decide whether or not to play it. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation in this matter as it is not always possible to keep everyone happy with regards to the music being played.

If any members would like to be in charge of the music being played at the club, we welcome you to put your hand up to volunteer. As we are currently short-staffed with volunteers, any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for all members and guests at our Boating Club. We look forward to seeing you soon.

*If you are a volunteer and you don’t know how the sound system works, please reach out to one of the club committee members and we will arrange training.
