It’s time for the very popular Family Fishing Competition! Tickets are on sale – Available from Coastal Baits (33 Sunkist Bay Rd), or the Club house.

$20 per adult & $10 per child (under 16). Family pass $40. Limited to 100 tickets.

2022 Contest Rules and Conditions of Entry

  1. Fishing will be rod and reel or hand lines only.  (Kontikis, nets, longlines, spears are not permitted). 
  2. Prizes are for adult Snapper and Kahawai and child Snapper and Kahawai, average Snapper over both categories, extra prize categories can be added by the committee and the entrants will be notified.
  3. Fishing is restricted to the area covered by chart NZ 532 AND including the Firth of Thames.  Fishing may commence from 6am on Saturday 5 November 2022.
  4. Weigh in will be open at the Beachlands Boating Club Inc. at 3.30pm and finish at 5.00pm on 5 November 2022.  You must be in line by 5pm or your fish will not be weighed.
  5. All fish must satisfy the organiser’s scrutineers whose decision is final.  Normal fisheries regulations apply.  A ticket holder may weigh in a maximum of 3 snapper per day. If two or more fish become eligible for the same prize, the first such fish weighed in will be the winner. For other species the legal daily bag limit applies.
  6. All prizes can only be claimed by the registered ticket holder. The ticket holder must be at the prize giving to be eligible for the prize.  If any prize is not claimed immediately it will be redrawn. If there is no eligible prize winner, then the prize will be re-awarded at the discretion of the contest organisers.
  7. A briefing will be given on Friday night 4th November at 6.30pm at Beachlands Boating Club. Please bring your ticket. Bar will be open from 5.30pm.
  8. Prize giving will commence at 7.00pm Saturday 5 November 2022 but may be delayed at the discretion of the organisers.
  9. Product prizes are as offered and not redeemable in cash.
  10. All boats, vehicles and gear are the owner’s responsibility.  The skipper’s responsibility is to ensure the safety of all on board their boat.
  11. The organisers reserve the right to change or amend the contest at any stage, subject to any advice received, or in the interest of public safety.
  12. Contest entry tickets must be carried at all times.
  13. All fish must be in good condition (on ice).  Any fish in bad condition (smelly etc.) will not qualify for entry subject to scrutineer’s decision which is final.
  14. Coastguard channels monitored are:  Emergency Channel VHF 16, Inner Hauraki Gulf 64, Outer Hauraki Gulf 60.
  15. A child’s ticket is a child under 16 years of age.
  16. The organisers reserve the right to change or amend the contest at any stage, subject to any advice received, or in the interest of public safety, any changes will be announced on the Beachlands Boating Club Facebook Page.
